You know it when you read it. So why won’t it come out?
When you reread an English sentence, it feels as if you know it all. Then a conversation starts and the first words will not come. Looking familiar and being retrievable are different things. So our lessons ask you to recall and speak rather than look and read. With some questions a picture appears for one second and disappears, and you say what you remember of the scene. Getting stuck is fine. Find where you got stuck and say it again.
① Say it first, before you see the answer — checking comes after
② With some questions a picture vanishes after one second, so you recall and speak instead of reading
③ When you get stuck, you hear the phrase back in a correct sentence and say it again on the spot
④ 25 minutes a day, 1:1. On your own, start by covering a sentence, saying it once, then checking
