If your words are right but people still miss them, listen to the rhythm first

Many languages give each syllable roughly the same length. English does not: stressed syllables are long and clear, and the rest are squeezed short and weak. That is why saying "I want to go" as four equal, careful words can make it harder, not easier, to understand. Which word you stress changes the meaning, and whether your voice rises or falls can turn an answer into a question. We do not teach this rhythm as rules to memorise. You read along while listening to the model audio, and your recording is compared with the original line by line so you can hear where the beat slipped.
