A Hundred Easy Books Beat One Hard Book

People give up on reading in English for one reason more than any other: they picked a book that was too hard. Ten unknown words a page is not reading, it is decoding, and nobody decodes for long. Extensive reading runs the other way. You read a lot of books with one or two unknown words a page — books you finish without a dictionary. Push enough understandable sentences through and the shape of English becomes familiar before you have memorised a single rule. To make that actually possible, Say Global English writes the stories itself: 115 of them are free right now, sorted across five levels from Intro through BS and IS to Prime, with new ones added daily. Every one comes with clear narration audio and a picture-book PDF, so you can read it on screen, hear it, or print it. Then we take it one step further. Read a story back aloud, record yourself, and you get a pronunciation score; in 1:1 lessons with six AI tutors you put the phrases from that story to work in conversation. Reading that never becomes speech is only half of extensive reading. Progress, streaks and scores live in your account, so the story you started on your phone is waiting on your desktop. Twenty-six years of classrooms taught us this: the child who started with a hard book rarely lasted three weeks, and the child who stacked up easy ones picked up a thick book one day without being asked.
