Meaning in pictures, answers in English
English education today asks for more than reading text: learners need to take meaning from pictures, sound and video together. Korea's 2026 curriculum even added "Viewing" to its comprehension skills. Yet when every word in a vocabulary list carries a translation, you build the habit of converting English into your first language each time you hear it. For twenty-six years, since 2000, Huston has taught English through English with no Korean in class, and shows the meaning of words with pictures. When you are asked a question in a lesson, a picture appears for exactly one second and then disappears. If it stayed, you would simply read it; with one second, you see it, recall it and say it yourself. If there is no fitting picture, we do not force one in — an empty space is better than a wrong picture. You also read along with native-speaker audio, then compare your recording with the model line by line to hear what was different. Start with the free level test to see where your English stands now.
1. Word meanings are shown with pictures instead of translations
2. When asked a question, a picture shows for one second, so you see it, recall it and answer in English
3. The answer word is never printed on the picture — recalling it yourself is the practice
4. If there is no fitting picture, none is shown — no wrong pictures to confuse you
5. Read along with native-speaker audio and compare your recording with the model line by line
